Recently, my production team and I wrapped up a documentary shoot. The documentary was on the topic of refugees in Malaysia and as the director of the film, I wanted to show students and the general public that this is an actual issue that is pestering our country and very few people that I know of are aware of this issue. This photo was taken by me during the shoot. It was right before the Muslim prayers so they had to wash up at the kitchen area. What really struck me during the shoot was how hopeful the refugees looked when they saw us with our cameras. They probably thought we were from a renowned TV station, and were really eager to tell us their stories so that we would broadcast to let the world know. Deep down in their hearts, wishing somebody would be kind enough to lend a helping hand.
