BOARD OF GOVERNORS
The Board of Governors at IACT College comprises some of the most prominent industry captains. Every Governor is carefully appointed based on their contributions to the industry and ensures that high standards and industry relevance is continually experienced by every student at IACT College.
Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Ng Lay Swee was the founding President of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and the first ever woman in Malaysia to head a university. During her tenure, she led the university towards becoming a full-fledged higher education institution of excellent repute in just six years.
In recognition of her contributions, the Panglima Setia Mahkota award was conferred to her by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. She holds the honour of being the first Chinese woman in Malaysia to bear this title. Tan Sri continues her tremendous passion for better quality higher education today with IACT College.
As the Executive Director of AMP Radio Networks, Dato’ Borhan is responsible for the general management of ASTRO’s Malaysian radio operations comprising 8 terrestrial networks and 17 music channels.
Dato’ Borhan has over 20 years of experience in the advertising industry, which he willingly shares in his other capacity as President of the Malaysian Association of Commercial Radio Operators, Chairman of the Communication and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia (CMCF) and Governor of IACT College.
A former graduate from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA, Mr. Mark Chang started out as a Process Engineer at Kendall International, a US healthcare company, in 1990 before being promoted to Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for Malaysia in 1994. His experience has led him to a successful founding of MOL Online Sdn. Bhd. and subsequently JobStreet.com Sdn. Bhd. in 1997. Currently, he sits on the Board of Innity Corporation Berhad and Vitrox Bhd.
Dato’ Lim Say Chong is currently the Chairman of Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd. and a Trustee of Standard Chartered Trust Fund Ti-Ratana Welfare Society, Kuala Lumpur.
He has held many respected positions such as the Director of Mulpha International Bhd., Hon. Auditor of the Malaysia Economic Association and President of the Malaysian International Chambers of Commerce & Industry (MICCI). His experience makes him a figure to be reckoned with in the communication industry.
Packet One Networks (Malaysia) is Malaysia’s first WiMAX broadband service provider and is led by the man deemed as the ‘Wireless Wizard’ by the Peak magazine – Mr. Michael Lai. With his leadership, Packet One Networks aims to be the leading WiMAX converged telco within five years. Mr. Michael Lai has over 20 years of invaluable experience in the information and communication technology (ICT) industry.
In his previous stints, Mr. Michael Lai has held many prestigious positions. This includes being the CEO of TM Net. His expertise in ICT branding and marketing is valuable to the ever-changing advertising and communications industry.
Appointed to the Sunrise Berhad Board in 2003, Dato’ Allan Lim was the Non-Executive Deputy Chairman prior to his re-designation as the Executive Deputy Chairman in 2005.
Throughout his stint as top management, Dato’ Allan Lim garnered extensive exposure and knowledge in diverse industries. His experience provides valuable support to IACT College. Currently, he is also a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of TT Resources Bhd., the Non-Independent Non-Executive Chairman of Widetech (Malaysia) Bhd., and Managing Director of Gefung Holdings Berhad.
Silverlake Axis was founded by Mr. Goh Peng Ooi in 1989. Since then, the company has grown to be an established provider with offices located in over 13 countries across Asia Pacific.
His company has garnered many prestigious awards, such as the ‘IBM Star Stream Award 1997′, ‘IBM Partner World Beacon Awards 2006′ and more. Mr. Goh was also the recipient of the ‘Technology Entrepreneur Award Malaysia 2005’, making him an inspiration to the students of IACT College.
IACT College is the exclusive partner institution for the International Advertising Association (IAA), in Malaysia. The association, based out of New York and represented locally, is one of the world’s largest network of advertisers, media firms, and advertising agencies.
IACT College diploma students of selected programmes receive a dual award: their diploma from IACT College and a Certificate in Marketing Communication from IAA, New York. IACT College is the only college in Malaysia to receive its accreditation and endorsement.
