Last Monday, our photography class visited Pasar Seni and its surroundings. We were challenged to look past the big picture and look into the smaller details. Every bit of space meant something in our compositions.
I’ve walked in these streets before, but I was amazed at how much I actually missed. Whether it was a temple cheekily sticking its roof out over some buildings, a girl in a mirror, or a smoking man through a gap in a wall, I found myself stumbling over the intriguing parts of Kuala Lumpur I had not seen.
It’s not very different in life: we often miss the smaller details. But if we look hard enough, they can be found special, peaceful, exciting, happy and beautiful. Creativity begins when we learn to capture them – the little things.
