the prize

The winning brand story short film will be the key piece for IACT Marketing effort in 2020. The winning team will also earn an opportunity to work with RESERVOIR PRODUCTION for a film/ad project, besides cash prizes and certificate.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. IACT Brand Story Short Film Competition is jointly organised by the IACT College Marketing Team and IACT Academic Department (the Organiser)
  2. Entry to the competition is FREE.
  3. Entries that are lewd, obscene, sexually explicit, pornographic, disparaging, defamatory, libellous, illegal, offensive, or otherwise contain inappropriate content or objectionable material should not be submitted and the Organiser reserves the right to remove or demand the Eligible Participant to remove such entry at any time in the Organiser’s sole discretion.
  4. The participant(s) must have devised the script/story, technical side e.g. using camera/sound equipment and editing themselves with minimal or no supervision and assistance from lecturers and industry professionals.
  5. The participant(s) will also need to develop a marketing communication campaign that ties in to the film produced.
  6. It is the participant(s) responsibility to obtain all permission and releases from all persons (or the parent/guardian of any young persons) appearing in any associated photo/still images, the right to show the film to a public audience (i.e. secured all music and image rights). Failing to do so will disqualify the entry from entering the competition.
  7. The Organiser may at its sole and absolute discretion extend the contest period at any time without any prior notice to any party whatsoever. Unless otherwise varied to the contrary by the Organiser, any participation in the Contest during the extended period (if any) shall be governed by the Terms and Conditions set out herein which shall remain in full force and effect at all times.
  8. The Organiser reserves the right to modify the contest mechanisms, withdraw or terminate this Contest at any time at its sole and absolute discretion without prior notices to any person.
  9. The Organiser reserves the rights to use submissions that have been authored, created for the Competition to archive, reproduce, distribute, display, perform, or otherwise use consistently with the rules and guidelines of the college, department, or unit.

ELIGIBILITY

  1. IACT Brand Story Short Film competition is open to any student currently studying in IACT College.
  2. IACT student can participate either as an individual or as a group (not more than 5 persons)
  3. Short film submitted to other film festivals and short film competitions, be it local or international will not be eligible for submission in the Competition.

VIDEO FORMAT & SUBMISSIONS

  1. Video Format: MP4 or MOV (HD, 1080p and above), not longer than 5 minutes.
  2. Language: English. Other languages are allowed but keep it minimal, and it must be subtitled in English when used.
  3. In submitting their film and by signing the entry form, participant(s) agree to all the competition regulations and confirm that all the information in the form is true and accurate.
  4. Judging criteria:
    1. Creativity & Originality (30%);
    2. Relevance & Storytelling Ability (30%);
    3. Production Value (20%);
    4. Idea Pitch Presentation (10%); and
    5. Popularity (10%)
ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE WINNERS
  1. The Top 5 winners of the competition will be notified via email or phone no later than 30th November 2019 or such other date as decided by the Organiser at its absolute discretion.
  2. The Top 5 entries will be uploaded onto IACT Social Media Platform for a period of online voting from 30th November 2019 til 12th December 2019.
  3. Top 3 winners are to present in person at the Award Ceremony to collect their prize. However, the Organiser reserves the right to change the venue and/or timing of Award Ceremony at its sole discretion without prior notification.
  4. In the event that a submission created by a group (and submitted by a Primary Entrant) is declared the winner in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, the prize will be awarded to the primary participant and it will be the responsibility of the primary participant to distribute the prize.
