Youth Creativity Prevails

IACT College Wins (3rd Place) for MyKRIS – Youth Creativity Prevails, Student Contest

Tuesday, January 20th, 2015 –, a Tier-1 Malaysian Internet and Intranet Services Provider (ISP) organised a competition to encourage creativity among students and to give them a taste of the corporate world. Chew Choo Soon, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman of MyKRIS described, “After 15 years why not challenge how students connect their ideas to the corporate world”.

Themed “Youth Creativity Prevails” the MyKRIS Inaugural National Contest was open to all private Malaysian universities and college students studying digital animation, multimedia, video editing, graphic design, film and broadcasting courses.  The response has been encouraging with a total of 250 students from 10 institutions comprising of INTI University, Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College (KLMUC), Saito College, Arte Academy, UCSI University, Raffles University Iskandar, Asia Pacific University (APU), LINCOLN University College, ALFA International College and IACT College taking part.  Starting in September till December 15, 2014, students were tasked to produce either a short video or digital animation clip that was related to MyKRIS’ business of high-speed broadband and managed service technologies.

IACT College not only won third place in the Short Video contest receiving RM2000, but was also given an additional honour of winning the Best Effort Award.

The broadcasting students mentioned that their objective is to document the technical aspects of MyKRIS. In the process, they had to interview key people from the company. They express their gratitude to the hospitality graciously given to them in allowing them to produce their video and using their facilities. The students also thanked their lecturers in accompanying and assisting them in the video editing process to succeed.


Broadcasting students winning third place and  grabbing the Best Efforts award in the national inter-collegiate video production competition.
Azizul Rahman Bin Mahfudz, one of the respective lecturers in the broadcasting field of IACT College was given an award for best effort in the video making process as he was mostly involved in the whole MyKRIS competition process.
Saito College earned RM 8000 for their 2nd place victory and USCI University earned RM 4000 for being the runner up. LINCOLN College and INTI University were also recognised with the Most Viewed Video Award and Best Institution Award, respectively.
MyKRIS Chief Executive Officer, Mr Chew Chou Soon, accompanied the group photo session with their respective lecturers and the managing team of the MyKRIS video making competition.
